Diamond Cutting

A diamond cut finish wheel is progressively taking the market by storm. A diamond cut finish can be recognized by looking for a shiny, bare metal effect on the wheel, often in combination with a painted colour surface. Diamond cutting is sometimes referred to as diamond polishing as the process produces a highly polished metal effect. At Centurion Mag Repairs the diamond cut finish is achieved by first painting the wheel the desired color of choice, then using a specialized wheel turning lathe with a diamond tipped cutter (hence the term) to remove a paper-thin layer of alloy from the face of the wheel. The process is done before the protective lacquer (clear coat) is applied to the wheel. This state-of-the-art method allows us precise control over the finished cut of the mag wheel and therefore enables us to repair wheels that other companies will not attempt to repair. Diamond cutting can be applied to the full face and lip of the wheel. Combined with an application of base coat paint it can produce some spectacular finishes.
Polishing of Mags

Centurion Mag Repairs specializes in the high polishing of mag wheels. To obtain a mirror like finish we use high-speed rotary polishers. Wheels that were previously polished can be stripped and polished to a bright shiny chrome-like finish. We also polish aluminum car and bike parts.
Welding of Mag Wheels and Any Other Aluminium Parts

Centurion Mag Repairs are capable of fixing almost any damage from minor curb rash to sever pothole impacts such as cracked wheels. Don’t worry if a piece of your mag broke off, it is still repairable. By making use of a Tig welder and using high grade aluminum we can weld mag wheels to industry and insurance standards. If appropriate, the damaged area will be cut and shaped to receive the weld. It will then be welded in and outside using welding equipment which minimizes the amount of heat transferred into the alloy but with the intention of maximizing the strength of the weld without unnecessarily softening the alloy. We always weld in such a way that the repair is at least flush with the surface of the wheel. The wheel will then be passed to a lathe operative so that the welded area can be machined back to create a seamless finish. If necessary, the welded areas will then be sanded and smoothed off by hand to complete the job. As with all of our alloy wheel repair services we will only weld a wheel where we are confident that the repaired wheel will be safe for everyday use. If we have any concerns about potential risks, we will advise you once the wheel has been inspected. We also offer specialized service of welding any aluminum parts and objects, in a quick turnaround time.

Mag Wheel Respraying and Colour Changing

DO YOU WANT YOUR MAG WHEELS TO LOOK NEW AGAIN? DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE COLOR OF YOUR MAG WHEELS? At Centurion Mag Repairs we offer a wide range of standard colors, OEM finishes, chrome paint finishes, color-coding, color matching, color customization and bespoke finishes. After cleaning and repairing a mag wheel, it is time for the finishing touch. We start by applying a primer coat and then the mag wheels are then placed in a baking oven. Next, the mag wheels are taken to the spray booth where the desired color like your standard color, OEM color, customized color, two tone color or design is sprayed on. Then, the mag wheels are taken to the baking oven where the mags are baked once again. The mag wheels are removed from the oven and painted a protective lacquer for that finishing touch. The protective lacquer can be sprayed in three finishes such as high gloss finish, satin finish and a matt finish. The rims are heated in the oven to a pre-set temperature and then removed to cool down. Once cooled, tyres can be fitted and balanced.
Minor Scratch & Dent Repairs on Mags

Centurion Mag Repairs specializes in scratch repairs on all aluminum and steel wheels. If the scratches on the mag wheel is not to deep and we can match the color of the mag we can do a surface repair which is quicker and more cost effective than refurbishing the whole wheel.
Repairs & Refurbishing of Mag Wheels

The different types of mag wheel damage that we can repair are:
Straightening alloy wheels – We can straighten alloy wheels which are not running true as a result of minor or major damage
Curbed and scuffed wheels – Generally these wheels will have more surface damage than a wheel requiring straightening. Depending on the extent of the damage we will either weld or fill the damaged area and then polish or machine the surface using one of our lathes so that a perfect finish is achieved
Bent and cracked wheels – Wheels with these sorts of damage are often repairable and may require more detailed attention to deal with the damage
Corroded wheels – If a wheel has experienced lots of corrosion then it first goes through our chemical wheel stripping process to remove any existing dirt, corrosion and paint/lacquer to get to the bare metal. A similar process is then followed as with damaged wheels, but there are limits to the degree of corrosion that can be repaired and our technicians will discuss this with you once they have inpected the wheels.
Brake Caliper Colour Change

One of the most popular vehicle modifications in the automotive world today is custom wheels and tyres. Custom wheels makes your vehicle stand out from the crowd without spending a lot of money.
In addition to wheel repairs and customization, Centurion Mag Repairs are also able to alter the color of brake calipers. This can have a dramatic effect on the overall appearance of the vehicle, and we customize any wheels/rims according to our client’s preferences!
Wheel Fitting, Stripping & Balancing

At Centurion Mag Repairs our experienced and trained staff are able to strip, refit and balance your mag wheels. Once we have repaired your mag wheels the tyres are fitted back on the mags and balanced. Balanced wheels help to eliminate vibration and avoid premature tyre wear caused by an imbalance in the rotating wheel and tyre assembly. The first sign that your wheels may be out of balance or bent is when your steering wheel starts to wobble at a certain speed.
Powder Coating

Centurion Mag Repairs offers powder coating as well. The powder material is applied with an electrostatic gun. The gun imparts a positive electric charge on the powder, which is then sprayed towards the grounded object (wheel) by compressed air and then accelerated toward the object by a powerful electrostatic charge. The powder comes in a wide range of colors and finishes.
Wide Colour Range & Finishes

At Centurion Mag Repairs we offer a very wide range of color options and finishes for your mag wheels. From your standard OEM finishes to any color of your choice, two tone finishes, color matching, smoked wheels and many more options. Not only do we offer a wide range of colors but we have three different finishes available which you can choose from, a high gloss, satin or a matt finish.

Mag Wheel Straightening

Are you experiencing a vibration from your steering wheel or excessive tyre wear or tyres which don’t seem to be lasting very long after purchase? Then it is most likely that you may have fallen victim to the ‘pothole plague’ and experienced that awful feeling where you cannot avoid going through a pothole due to the traffic conditions or bad road surfaces and then experience that crunching sound when your wheel gets bent in some way. If you hit a pothole or object on the road and your wheel is buckled don’t rush out to a dealer and buy an expensive replacement wheel. Most dealers will advise you to replace your damaged mags at a hefty cost. No matter how minor the damage is, out of shape wheels will not only destroy your tyres but the vibrations can cause serious damage to both the steering and suspension components of your vehicle. In their worst form they will not hold air or lose air rapidly.
At Centurion Mag Repairs, we have invested in hydraulically assisted wheel straightening equipment. This equipment coupled with the experience and skill of our technicians enables us to straighten and repair damaged wheels. Hydraulic assistance is a process which involves a combination of heating the wheel and then using hydraulic rams to press out any bends in the heated metal. The wheel is first placed on a specialized jig within the wheel straightening rig which centers the wheel. The wheel shape is then measured with a dial gauge to identify the location of any deformed sections. The operator then uses their skill to determine the correct balance of heat and pressure required to transform the wheel back to its correct shape. The process of heating the wheel in the spot to be repaired softens the metal and makes it much less likely that the alloy will crack under the pressure required to straighten the bend. Once the wheel is straightened the alloy must be heat treated once again in order to strengthen it, as the heat and forces involved in the straightening process change the molecular structure of the wheel.
